1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Tax Star LLC-FZ ("Tax Star", "we", "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit or use our website and mobile application (collectively, the "Services").

This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use and forms part of Tax Star's overall data protection framework.

If you have any questions about our use of cookies, please contact us at support@taxstar.app.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They enable websites to recognise your device, remember your preferences and improve your browsing experience.

In addition to cookies, our mobile application may use local storage or similar technologies to securely store session information and user preferences on your device.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies We Use

We aim to keep our use of cookies and similar technologies to a minimum. We currently use the following categories of cookies and similar technologies.

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the operation, security and functionality of our Services. They enable features such as secure authentication, account login, fraud prevention and the storage of user preferences.

Because these cookies are necessary for the Services to function, they cannot be disabled through any cookie preference settings that may be made available by Tax Star.

You may still configure your browser to block or delete cookies; however, doing so may affect the functionality and availability of the Services.

These cookies do not require your consent where permitted by applicable law because they are strictly necessary for the operation of the Services.

Analytics Cookies

Where Google Analytics is used on our website, it is configured to help us understand how visitors use our website so that we can improve the performance and functionality of our Services.

We configure Google Analytics in a privacy-focused manner. For example, IP anonymisation is enabled, and analytics information is not used for behavioural advertising, profiling or targeted marketing. Analytics information is used solely to understand and improve the performance and functionality of our Services.

Where required by applicable law, Tax Star will implement an appropriate cookie consent mechanism before placing analytics cookies on a user's device and will obtain the user's consent where required.

You may also manage analytics cookies through your browser settings as described in Section 5 below.

If you withdraw your consent (where consent has been obtained), or disable analytics cookies through any available cookie preference controls or, where applicable, your browser settings, no further analytics cookies will be placed on your device. Analytics cookies already stored on your device may remain until they expire or are deleted through your browser settings.

4. What We Do Not Use

We are committed to limiting the use of tracking technologies. In particular, we do not currently use:

  • advertising or retargeting cookies;
  • social media tracking pixels;
  • third-party behavioural profiling technologies;
  • cookies that track users across unrelated websites; or
  • technologies that sell or share cookie data with data brokers.

5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

Most web browsers allow you to control, block or delete cookies through their settings.

Common browser settings may be found under:

Please note that blocking or disabling strictly necessary cookies through any available cookie preference controls or your browser settings may prevent parts of the Services from functioning correctly.

  • adjusting your browser settings to block analytics cookies; or
  • installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on provided by Google.

The Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on is available only for supported desktop browsers. Mobile users may manage analytics cookies through their browser or device privacy settings, where available.
